Emily Rose Davis Thompson  (Rosie)                        1932 – 2017               

Emily (Rosie) Thompson, 84 of Centennial Colorado passed away on 02/06/2017 after suffering a heart attack.  She was born in Fruitland Mesa, Delta County, Colorado on 12/12/1932 to G. Duane Davis and Minnie N. Cotten.  Emily grew up in Crawford Colorado, moving with her parents to Salt Lake City when she was 12.  She graduated from Granite High in Salt Lake City in 1952.  She was very involved in Church activities at the Christ United Methodist Church where she met her future husband. 

She married William Howard (Bill) Thompson on 08/22/1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  They moved back to Colorado to start their family living in Englewood and moving to their present address in Centennial (Littleton) in 1962. 

Rosie provided home day care services to her neighborhood while also doing ironing jobs, working at Mister Taco on Littleton Blvd and later becoming a checker at Safeway.  She also helped her kids deliver the Rocky Mountain News for years. 

Rosie is survived by her husband Bill and five children; Sharon (Phil Challis), Kandy (Mike Dolph), Bill (the second), Walt (Robin) and Kelly, and by 7 grandchildren (Courtney, Chris, Randy, Hannah, Patrick, Ty and Samantha) and numerous great-granchildren. 

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters; Ella May, Glenna Dee and Etta Jean.  She wished to be cremated and buried with her sisters in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Crawford Colorado.  This burial will be held at a later date.
