I am sorry for your loss. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Patrick, but from your description of him he sounds like someone who enriched the lives of those around him. None of us enjoy a perfect life, we are all afflicted with some form of suffering, and eventually we all die. The Bible speaks of a time when both death, and all forms of suffering will be done away with. “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4) God will do away with all forms of pain, and he will destroy death. He will bring those who have died back to life, they will have the prospect of living forever in paradise on earth. May the hope found in the Bible comfort your grieving hearts.

I'm so very sorry for your loss.
I have very fond memories of Garrett. I always thought he looked like Quinten on Dark Shadows.
And when we were all running around 40 Robinson Ave, he was always very kind and patient with us.
